Brand USA – with airline partners British Airways and American Airlines – hosted about 70 leading travel agents from the United Kingdom on the first-ever, multi-itinerary U.S. familiarization trip, or MegaFam, during May 2013.

The MegaFam consisted of seven simultaneous itineraries that featured iconic U.S. travel experiences. Among the MegaFam’s highlights: the “Western Wilds” of Utah and Colorado; urban centers along the East Coast; vibrant Texan culture; Creole flavors of the Deep South; California’s casual lifestyle; the physical splendor of the Pacific Northwest; and the allure of the Great Lakes region.

A grand finale in Miami marked the end of the week-long MegaFam. All of the UK agents assembled there, following the individual trips, to share impressions of their U.S. travel experiences before heading home. During their trips, they also shared their experiences through social media.

The UK agents who participated in the MegaFam qualified for this event by booking the most travel packages to the United States during the first three months of 2013. Each booking included air travel through British Airways or American Airlines, and ground transportation through Avis.
