Brand USA India Kicks off 2019 Education Seminars for Travel Agents

Brand USA India is preparing for its 2019 educational seminars for India travel agents on the heels of celebrating the holiday season in style.

The destination marketing organization has begun its annual educational seminars for the travel trade in nine cities in North India, West India, South India and East India. Since October, the beginning of Brand USA’s Fiscal Year 2019, 207 travel agents and tour operators have been trained in Ahmedabad, Pune and Chandigarh. Brand USA is expanding the program to the cities of Kolkata, Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Mumbai, and New Delhi.

The program educates travel agents about new destinations in the United States, offering experiences beyond the gateway cities.  Travelers in India prefer new and diverse travel excursions for their holiday travel.  India, a growing source market for U.S. travel, is a country with more than 50 million passport holders and that number is expected to increase. 

The travel trade members meet one-on-one with Brand USA partners and watch demonstrations about their destinations.  The partners involve include:  Choose Chicago, Destination DC, Experience Kissimmee, Lake Tahoe Visitors Authority, Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority, Los Angeles Tourism & Convention Board, Philadelphia Convention & Visitors Bureau, San Francisco Travel Association, Travel Nevada, Visit California and Visit Mammoth Lakes.

Brand USA India also organized Thanksgiving dinners for 20 senior travel and consumer media representatives at Pa Pa Ya Restaurant on November 21 in New Delhi and The Wine Rack on November 23 in Mumbai. These dinners were well received and generated goodwill for Brand USA in India.

In addition, Brand USA was a silver sponsor at the AMCHAM’s Annual Christmas Ball held on December 8 at the Hotel ITC Maurya, New Delhi.  Representatives of the U.S. Embassy and AMCHAM members from various U.S. companies based in India attended the event.  Brand USA also invited senior members from Air India and Turkish Airlines to join the festivities.
