Preparations Underway for the First-Ever Brand USA Travel Week Europe 2019

The inaugural Brand USA Travel Week Europe 2019 is right around the corner as the destination marketing organization for the United States prepares for this game-changing business opportunity designed to inspire more travelers from the United Kingdom and Europe to visit the U.S. to, through and beyond the gateways.

The invitation-only event – held in London from September 9-13 – will allow 100 travel exhibitors to showcase the diverse range of travel experiences in the U.S. to hand-picked, key buyers from the UK and Europe.

The exhibitors include accommodation and food service providers, attractions/theme parks/ticket suppliers, destination management companies, destination marketing organizations/convention and visitor bureaus, receptive tour operators, and transportation companies. Brand USA Travel Week brings together the biggest players in the travel industry to discuss trends, challenges, innovations and opportunities to grow visitation to the United States from the United Kingdom, Ireland and continental Europe.

The event will include B2B sessions giving buyers the opportunity to meet with select suppliers through an advanced match-making system and an Enrichment Series - a rich program of innovative speaker sessions covering topics relevant to the USA.  The enrichment series is designed to stimulate exciting debates, share new ideas and offer tangible tips as well as touch on topics such as future travel trends and the impact of current events on U.S. tourism.

Brand USA is honored to present John Herrington, the first Native American astronaut, as one keynote speaker for the Enrichment Series.  He will address the exhibitors on September 9, the opening day of the event at County Hall – a large, multi-use event venue situated on London's Southbank offering views of The Houses of Parliament, Big Ben, and the London Eye. 

Herrington will discuss his love of America’s great outdoors and his 4,300-mile cross-country bicycle ride from Cape Flattery, Washington, to Cape Canaveral, Florida.  During his 22-year career, Herrington became the first member of a federally recognized tribe (Chickasaw) to travel to space, taking part in a historic 13-day NASA mission to the International Space Station in 2002, which included three space walks.

 “Sharing his stories of challenges, leadership, motivation, and mentorship, John Herrington will both educate and entertain attendees at the inaugural Brand USA Travel Week Europe,” Thompson said.  “I couldn’t think of a better person to kick off our inspiring speaker series.  Offering our exhibitors, buyers, and sponsors a unique insight into his world is sure to set the perfect tone for what is set to be a game-changing week.”
