Brand USA & Korean Air Successfully Sponsored First Joint VIP FAM Tour

Top senior executives of eight major Korean travel agencies experienced Brand USA’s  first-ever VIP familiarization tour of the East Coast of the United States, offering them firsthand knowledge that will enable them to encourage their clients to visit the USA.

Brand US Korea, in collaboration with Korean Air, sponsored the tour from Oct. 18-25  for CEOs and other managers from Hana Tour, KRT, Lotte Tour, Mode Tour, My Real Trip, Very Good Tour, Web Tour, and Yellow Balloon Tour.

The goal of the FAM tour was to encourage the travel agencies to create diversified and interesting tour packages to the East Coast, leveraging Korean Air’s direct route from Seoul that launched in April 2019.

The participants visited Boston, the nation’s capital Washington DC, and Rhode Island. In the district, they visited the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History which is part of the Smithsonian Institute and where the world’s largest blue diamond, the Hope Diamond, is displayed. They also visited The Breakers, the grand summer home of the Vanderbilt family – a wealthy family in U.S. history – and the Audrain Auto Museum which displays the world’s rarest vehicles. 

It was then on to Boston, where the travel executives experienced Boston Duck Tours, a famous land-water excursion to the city’s most iconic site, stopped at Fenway Park, the oldest major league baseball stadium, and toured Harvard and Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).

The participants engaged in networking sessions with local direct marketing organizations and 20 tourism industry leaders to discuss practical ways to promote each destination and its hotels and attractions to the Korean audience.
