China Now?
My first trip, in 2002, was a “China 101” experience. Terra-cotta warriors? Check. Great Wall, check. But once I’d ticked off the must-sees, on each of my next seven trips I could step back and take in the bigger picture – much bigger. Seeing the country’s ambition in person put into perspective not only China’s galloping ascendance, but also a legacy measured in dynasties spanning generations.
