Thirty years ago, when parliament asked the Norwegian Public Roads Administration (Statens Vegvesen) to help boost the country’s dwindling tourism numbers by developing its most scenic drives, they surely didn’t expect that installing some loos would be the key to reinvigorating interest in driving holidays in Norway.
