Brand USA, in partnership with Marriott International and American Airlines, has launched the first series of a large-scale mega media venture with Puerto Rico and Washington State as the first stops along the travel routes. The “50 Journalists in 50+ Destinations” Mega Media Venture aims to host 50 international journalists to the 50 States, five territories, and the District of Columbia through May 19, 2018.
Journalists Claudio Dasilva and Mari Campos flew from Brazil, and experienced American Airlines’ new premium economy seating along their journey to the United States. Dasilva, editor for the ‘Mercado & Eventos’ publication, visited Puerto Rico from February 19 to February 23 to experience the territory’s unique leisure attractions, which included a stay at the Sheraton Puerto Rico Hotel and Casino, as well as the San Juan Marriott Resort and Stellaris Casino. The five-day itinerary was a success as Puerto Rico’s tourism officials were delighted to showcase the resiliency of its tourism industry.
Washington State hosted freelance journalist, Mari Campos, who explored Seattle’s food and culture through an exciting itinerary, which included a “Savor Seattle Food Tour” and visits to various museums, parks, and famous attractions. Marriott provided lodging at The W Seattle and The W Bellevue properties where Campos had access to Seattle’s vibrant downtown culture.
