Brand USA-Ctrip Campaign Increases Booking Sales for U.S. Partners

Brand USA partnered with Ctrip to create high-impact marketing packages for U.S. destination partners to promote their products to the 300 million members of Ctrip, resulting in increased sales for them.

As the largest online travel agency in China, Ctrip provides travel services including accommodation reservation, transportation ticketing, packaged tours, and corporate travel management.

During this joint marketing initiative, which ran from April 8 – June 14, each participating destination received a customer campaign page that featured bookable itineraries. Campaign page traffic was generated through Ctrip display banner ads and iPinYou ads, which are on a programmatic ad buying platform that reaches 80 percent of all China mobile users in its network through targeted marketing campaigns.

Partners received between 20 million and 38 million impressions depending on their tier package level. Each partner registered at least a 19 percent year-over-year increase in booking sales on Ctrip.

The partners who took part in the campaign were: Illinois Office of Tourism, CRUSA, Louisiana Office of Tourism, Newark and New York State Division of Tourism.
