Training Seminars Draw 89 Japanese Agents
Brand USA Japan – working with the Japan Association of Travel Agents (JATA) and the Visit USA Committee Japan – organized training seminars for agents in Nagoya, May 16, and in Osaka, May 17.
The Nagoya seminar, held at The Strings Hotel Nagoya, drew 39 agents. Another 50 agents were at the Osaka seminar, at InterContinental Osaka. Additionally, 37 Japanese agents later came to a May 17 reception at the U.S. Consul General's residence in Osaka.
These destination-marketing organizations and Visit USA members participated in the seminars, which also featured one-on-one B2B sessions with the agents:
American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, United Airlines, Marriott, Travel Oregon, Visit California, South Dakota, Wyoming, San Diego, San Francisco Travel, Visit Seattle, Illinois State, NYC, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Vermont, Montana, Marianas Visitors Authority, Mississippi River Country, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Alamo, Hertz, Disney Destination International, Simon Shopping Destinations, Mall of Americas, Tour America, Tualatin Valley, and Brand USA.
KIX Travel Fair Returns for 15th Year
Brand USA Japan also participated in the largest consumer travel show in western Japan, the KIX Travel Fair, May 18-19.
Known as “Kanku Tabihaku 2019,” or “The Travel Showcase Closest to the World,” the weekend event drew 43,000 visitors and was held for the 15th straight year at Kansai International Airport.
Staff members of Brand USA Japan handed out Brand USA “Inspiration Guides” to consumers who came by its exhibition space.

Japanese Agents Join Alaskan FAM
Representatives of five Japanese tour operators went on an Alaskan familiarization trip, May 22-28, hosted by Brand USA, Delta Air Lines, and the Anchorage and Fairbanks (Alaska) convention and visitor bureaus.
The five tour operators were: JTB; Travel Gallery; Hankyu Travel International; Kinki Nippon Tourist; and Meitetsu World Travel.
