Latin Influencers Spotlight Los Angeles with assist from Brand USA

luisitoComunicaluisitioCOmunicaBrand USA is tapping into the star power of several social-media celebrities from Mexico and Brazil to convey the appeal of Los Angeles, California to their followers.

During one week in July, Luisito Communica, 25, an engaging Mexican travel blogger published a pair of YouTube videos, which he made during a 10-day trip to Los Angeles with the assistance of Brand USA.

The videos – “Primera Vez Surfeando” (“My First Time Surfing”) and “Una Vista Increible!” (“An Incredible View”)  have been viewed more than 1.8 million times.

They feature the host’s humorous, non-stop, conversational style using low, wide-angle (often distorted, arm’s length) close-ups. His long, curly auburn hair blows in the breeze as he bikes, bounces, runs, and even surfs, across the screen.

He also posted photos and impressions of his trip on other social-media outlets. He drew about 370,000 likes on Facebook, 646,000 followers on Instagram, and 400,000 followers on Twitter.

Communica posted his first YouTube video in May 2012. He has enticed more than 2.2 million subscribers to the YouTube channel that bears his name.

This month, Brand USA is also helping two 20-something Brazilian women, Maddu Magalhaes and Nah Cardoso, as they communicate their experiences through social media during a trip to Los Angeles, August. 6-12. The two friends will immerse themselves in the Los Angeles lifestyle, as they travel across the city and to the surrounding beaches.

Maddu – as she is better known – has 1.5 million subscribers to her YouTube channel. She also has more than 870,000 Instagram followers, 168,000 Twitter followers and 180,000 likes on her Facebook page.

Cardoso has about 1.6 million YouTube subscribers. Her social-media footprint also includes an impressive 3.7 million Instagram followers, 278,000 Twitter followers, and more than 760,000 likes on her Facebook page.

Both of the Brazilians project a vibrant, fashionable, and upscale approach across their social-media platforms.
