New Brand USA Website Targets Chinese Travelers

Brand USA has launched a new website for China – – to offer content to connect international travelers to all the diverse travel experiences available to them throughout the United States.

The new – unveiled in China in June - leverages the award-winning design, structure and technology of and offers vastly expanded content with over 500 new experience and city pages for Chinese travelers and travel representatives to view. 

The new website also offers China-specific travel tools from Mafengwo, a social travel planning site that enables users to share travel experiences with each other; Baidu Maps, China's most popular mobile mapping application with 348 million active users; and YouKu video, one of the largest online video providers in China.  The website also provides an accelerated content delivery network in top tier cities. 

The United States is a popular choice for Chinese travelers, with over 2.5 million visiting the U.S. in 2016, becoming the third-largest overseas inbound travel market to the U.S. 

According to the National Travel and Tourism Office (NTTO) at the U.S. Department of Commerce, the USA has experienced 13 consecutive years of growth in arrivals from China, 12 of which exhibited double digit growth rates. That growth is a factor in Brand USA’s focus on investing and enhancing its efforts in the vast China market, according to Brand USA Vice President, Global Trade Development Cathy Domanico.
