Brand USA Is Preparing for ITB Asia – a Leading Travel Trade Show

Brand USA is offering a myriad of opportunities for its partners to meet with the travel industry and media in Asia – all aimed at increasing international travel to the United States.

The destination marketing organization is hosting a pavilion for 20 U.S. exhibitors at the ITB Asia, a leading travel trade show being held in Singapore on October 17-19.

The day before the ITB Asia kickoff, on Oct. 16, Brand USA will be part of IMM Asia, the leading media event in the travel industry which will allow the U.S. delegates to connect with journalists from around Asia in a single-day networking and relationship building opportunity.

ITB then will kick off on October 17, when the official opening ceremony for the Brand USA pavilion will commence. The U.S. embassy representatives and travel delegates from Southwest Asia are expected to attend the opening event.

During the ITB, Brand USA will work with the U.S. Embassy from Southeast Asia region to have a market briefing of ASEAN to the USA exhibitors.  Brand USA will host a Southeast travel exchange and reception and present an educational seminar for buyers from Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, the Philippines, Vietnam, Myanmar, Cambodia. Each USA exhibitor will present their travel products and updates to the buyers.

Meanwhile, Brand USA will hold its first-ever Taiwan, Hong Kong and Singapore business-to-business (B2B) day.  The event, on Oct. 15, will provide a valuable platform for U.S.  direct marketing organizations, hotels, attractions and suppliers to network with top tier tour operators, airline representatives, travel agents, meeting & incentive agents, and media.  U.S. delegates will be able to connect with quality buyers from Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam and other ASEAN countries.

The event will include a market travel brief about Taiwan, Hong Kong and Singapore, a USA seminar and brunch as well as one-on-one business appointments.

Encouraging travelers from Southeast Asia to visit the United States comes an opportune time as traveling to the USA is becoming easier.

Brand USA is working on a co-op campaign with Cathay Pacific, the Hong Kong-based airline which offers scheduled passenger and cargo services to over 200 destinations in Asia, North America, Australia, Europe, and Africa.

Cathay Pacific announced it will begin non-stop service to Seattle in March 2019, becoming the only airline directly linking Hong Kong with the West Coast city.

Seattle will join the airlines’ other passenger gateways in the U.S. - Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, New York (JFK), New York (Newark) and San Francisco.  New service to Washington DC will begin this month. The airline operates 99 flights weekly to the USA.

Brand USA will be working closely with Cathay Pacific on travel trade outreach, product development and to increase arrivals in Fiscal Year 2019.
